argumentative essay.

Most parents across Singapore and even the globe would want their children to achieve academic success , most parents have the mindset that going to a junior college and then entering a university would lead to a brighter future for their children when they grow up.

Therefore, these parents' mindset of the "route" to excellence is the route which involves enteing a good primary school followed by a good secondary and finally a good university. These parents are usually well informed , have a wide circle of friends , they usually share their views and opinions about the education their children are having and are most of all very sensitive to policy changes.

By going to a good secondary school from primary school, besides good academic results , their children could have another alternative and that is using their co-curriculum activities that they excel in . Being a talent in a particular CCA would mean more proffesional coaching , help and guidance and in conjunction more money would have to be invested , thus showing that these well-off families actually have an advantage over the rest.

Besides the DSA ,another way that most students go by is having a high PSLE t-score , this naturally guarantees a place in one of the top schools in Singapore which offers the IP programme similar to that of cultivating a good sportsmen or any other CCA , talent , professional help and valuable information is also needed .

To round it off , families who are higher up the social-economic ladder would eventually have an advantage above the rest.
